Our Client is an established and growing international freight forwarding business with a strong presence in Ocean Freight. Known for delivering reliable, flexible, and customer-focused logistics solutions, they are expanding their footprint in Belgium and across key global trade lanes.
As part of their continued growth strategy, we are seeking an exceptional Head of Sales to lead their commercial function, with a strong emphasis on new business development and market expansion .
The Role
This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving revenue growth, building a high-performing sales culture, and expanding the Ocean Freight market share within Belgium and beyond.
You will play a pivotal role in identifying new opportunities, winning strategic accounts, and strengthening brand position in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and execute the sales strategy for Ocean Freight in Belgium
- Drive new business acquisition , focusing on key verticals and high-value clients
- Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team
- Personally engage in strategic business development and key account acquisition
- Develop long-term relationships with major customers, partners, and global stakeholders
- Identify and develop opportunities across key trade lanes (Asia–Europe, Transatlantic, LatAm, etc.)
- Collaborate with product, operations, and pricing teams to deliver competitive solutions
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to refine the sales approach
- Own and deliver revenue, volume, and margin targets
- Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings
About You
- Proven success in a senior sales leadership role within freight forwarding , with a strong Ocean Freight focus
- Demonstrated ability to win new business and grow market share
- Strong network within the Belgian logistics and freight forwarding market
- Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on, hunter mentality
- Experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams
- Deep understanding of Ocean Freight markets, pricing, and trade lanes
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent in English; Dutch and/or French highly advantageous
