Senior Data Engineer (GCP / Data platform)About the opportunityOur client is looking for a highly senior Data Engineer to strengthen its Data Platform team.We are looking for someone capable of designing scalable cloud-native data solutions while mentoring engineers and driving best practices across the platform.Your responsibilitiesAs a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a central role in the design, evolution, and optimization of the company's cloud data platform.Your responsibilities will include:Data platform & architecture:Design and implement scalable Data Lake and Data Warehouse solutions on GCPDefine end-to-end technical flows using:BigQueryDataformCloud RunPub/SubAPIsSupport migration initiatives from legacy systems to modern cloud-native GCP environmentsDesign robust and scalable real-time data integration solutionsEnsure platform scalability, maintainability, and reliabilityData engineering & governance:Structure and historize data coming from multiple business domainsEnsure data is reliable, accessible, and easily consumable for:Data ScientistsReporting teamsBusiness stakeholdersDefine and maintain best practices around:Data Warehouse designIAM & privacyData governanceCloud architecture standardsContribute to AI/ML deployment standards and platform evolutionLeadership & collaboration:Coach and mentor Data Engineers on complex technical challengesAct as a senior technical reference point within the teamCollaborate closely with Product Owners and business stakeholdersTranslate functional requirements into actionable technical solutions and work packagesPromote engineering best practices and help raise the overall maturity level of the platform teamFinOps & optimization:Optimize GCP resource usage and cloud costsContribute to performance improvements and operational efficiency initiativesIdeal profile8+ years xdkqlui of experience in Data Engineering or similar rolesStrong expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Solid experience within Data Warehouse environmentsProven experience on legacy-to-cloud migration projectsStrong understanding of cloud-native architectures and scalable data platformsGood knowledge of real-time integration patterns and API-based architecturesExposure to AI-related initiatives is considered a strong plusStrong analytical and problem-solving mindsetExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsComfortable working in a highly autonomous and senior environmentFluent English required + French or Dutch
