Our client is a well-established player in the industrial services space, supporting manufacturers across food & beverage, chemicals, machine building, marine, energy and heavy industry. Their work centres around rotating equipment such as electric motors, drives, pumps and related systems, keeping their customers' machinery running reliably and efficiently. The role
This is a true technical-commercial hybrid: half engineer, half consultative seller. You'll be on the road across West & East Flanders visiting clients, understanding their installations and challenges, and shaping the right solution together with your internal team. It's not transactional product selling. It's listening, diagnosing, and offering an answer that genuinely fits.
Day to day you'll:
- Visit existing clients and prospects across your region, from SMEs to large industrial sites.
- Translate technical conversations on the shop floor into commercial proposals.
- Work hand-in-hand with the internal sales and engineering team to build offers, refine scope, and hand projects over cleanly.
- Hunt actively for new opportunities alongside nurturing your existing portfolio.
- Be the trusted point of contact between the client and the company. The person who picks up the phone when something needs solving.
Hybrid setup: most days in the field with clients, balanced with office time for team alignment and home office for admin and prep.
Your profile
- A technical background. Bachelor or master in electromechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automation, mechanical engineering, or equivalent through experience.
- A few years of experience in an industrial environment, ideally with some exposure to a commercial, customer-facing or solution-design role. Direct experience with rotating equipment is genuinely not required , that knowledge is rare on the market and very learnable on the job. What matters is that you have the technical foundation and the appetite to absorb a new product world.
- Comfortable around concepts like PLCs, drives, motor control, electrical schematics, or industrial automation in general.
- Strong communicator. You can talk credibly with a maintenance manager and an operations director in the same morning.
- A doer's mentality: structured, organised, results-driven, and not the kind of person who closes the laptop at 5pm if a quote needs to go out.
- You thrive in a setup where the sales team and engineering team work tightly together. Collaboration, not lone-wolf selling.
- Dutch is essential; functional French and/or English a clear plus given the cross-regional client base.
