Estimator – Belgium

CLIENT

Linum Consult’s client is an international technical and engineering construction specialist. They are looking to hire an Estimator who will take ownership of the end-to-end pre-construction and estimation process with their team in Belgium.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identifying, qualifying, and maintaining and agile database of suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors for project sourcing
• Managing initial market engagement, including issuing, tracking, and securing signed Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
• Formulating and issuing comprehensive pricing queries and Requests for Quotes (RFQs) to the market
• Reviewing and analysing detailed construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
• Executing high-precision, digital quantity take-offs to extract accurate material and labour requirements
• Logging, tracking, and organising all incoming supplier proposals and market intelligence
• Conducting rigorous technical and financial comparisons of received offers
• Identifying rate anomalies, financial discrepancies, and project risks, providing normalised data summaries for senior management review

PROFILE

• Strong background of working as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, or Cost Engineer within the construction industry
• Excellent IT skills, including MS Office, MS Project and preferably CostX
• Excellent ability to interpret, interrogate, and measure from complex architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
• Strong eye for detail and demonstrable background in normalising and dissecting complex commercial proposals
• Highly organised with the ability to manage concurrent deadlines during intensive bidding phases
• Excellent communication skills in French and/or Dutch and English
