Planner - Large Infrastructure Construction Project

For one of our major clients active in large-scale infrastructure projects in Belgium, we are currently looking for an experienced Planner to support the execution of a complex multidisciplinary construction project.

Context

The project is part of a major infrastructure transformation program involving large-scale civil works, coordination of multiple stakeholders, and highly complex execution planning.

The Planner will join a dynamic project environment and play a key role in the coordination, monitoring, optimization, and reporting of construction planning activities across the project lifecycle.

This role requires strong experience in construction site planning and infrastructure execution environments.

Mission Objective

As Project Planner, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, analyzing, and optimizing integrated project schedules covering engineering, procurement, and construction activities.

You will support project management teams by providing reliable planning analysis, scenario simulations, progress tracking, and risk assessments to ensure efficient project delivery.

A strong hands-on experience in construction site planning is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in line with contractual requirements and project scope
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, and construction planning activities
  • Monitor project progress, identify deviations, and propose corrective actions
  • Perform schedule analysis and evaluate project risks and opportunities
  • Build deterministic and probabilistic schedules, including Monte Carlo simulations
  • Develop and maintain resource histograms and S-curves
  • Prepare recovery schedules and acceleration scenarios
  • Support claims and compensable event analysis related to planning activities
  • Participate in project progress meetings and management reporting
  • Ensure alignment between planning, risk management, contract management, document control, and financial tracking
  • Streamline planning information between site teams, work preparation teams, and project management
  • Challenge and validate planning inputs based on technical and operational expertise
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across multiple project disciplines
  • Support and coach junior planners and work preparation teams
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of planning methodologies and reporting processes

Profile

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in project planning within large construction or infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience in construction site planning and execution follow-up is mandatory
  • Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling methodologies, and construction sequencing
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary infrastructure, civil engineering, or industrial projects
  • Experience with contract management and risk management is a strong asset
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities

Education

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or equivalent technical background

Languages

  • Professional fluency in Dutch and English is required
