JOB DESCRIPTION - ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To be able to respond to the elevated demand of changes by the energy market and to ensure the smooth delivery of high quality products in Production, Client would like to hire a tester who will join an existing SAT Test team to support the CMS & PPP application.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The tester is responsible for execution of Sanity/Regression testing.
- The tester is responsible for test design and test execution of new changes and projects.
- The tester is responsible for the execution of ad hoc requests from the Problem & Change analist in the context of system/process behavior analysis.
- Defects must be correctly logged and followed up in the test tool (MF ALM QC) and defect management procedure has to be followed and quality control has to be done.
- The tester is responsible for retesting defects whenever bug fixes are delivered, and for the correct documentation of the test result in the test logging tool.
- Incidents on the test environment must be correctly logged and followed up in the ITSM tool (Topdesk).
- The tester will report to the Test Coördinator, however for the day-2-day activities, the interaction will be mostly between the tester and the test teamlead.
- The test tools that Client uses are MF ALM QC for defect management and reporting and a semi-automated custom test tool, called Hammer, which is based on SOAP UI for message exchange testing.
- The tester will actively participate in alignment meetings:
- With the team members & TestCo’s – Daily – Stand Up
- With the impacted vendor (weekly/Daily) – Defect follow up/SCRUM meetings
- With the impacted DGO/Market party (ad hoc)
EXPECTATIONS
- The tester should be employable in different domains; as these do require specific knowledge, we expect the candidate to be open for new challenges and to be willing to assimilate new topics or knowledge and to reshare this information within the team.
- The tester must have a critical view on the product and learn how to challenge the quality of a delivered product especially for integration with the main branch.
- This will require a thorough learning path in growing and perpetuating the knowledge of the different domains.
- The SAT test team is responsible for recurrent knowledge sharing about existing and new changes, and about test methodologies and techniques on a regular basis.
- Therefore, it is expected from the tester organize these KS sessions:
- Within the team: back-ups, colleague-testers, … p.e. onboardings.
- For new joining functional analists but also to refresh and extend knowledge.
- The tester is expected to act pro-actively and give feedback to the TestCo and/or Test team lead about test related topics such as progress, issues & risks but also about team related topics.
- Defect treatment/analysis has to be according to the priority.
- Client expects from each team member to be a team player with an open and honest communication style, with respect for each other within or outside the team.
- Communication with the Vendor & analists has to be in the language of the user (French, Dutch or English).
SKILLS
- Demonstrable experience as a Test Specialist-Must Have(Intermediate 3 years)
- Proven experience in writing test scenarios-Must Have
- Demonstrated experience with formal testing methods and techniques-Must Have
- Candidate is Certified in ISTQB Foundation or higher (proof of certification needs to be oploaded here)-Must Have
- Proven experience as a Functional Software tester-Must Have(Intermediate 5 years)
- Proven experience of SQL: writing & execution of queries-Must Have(Intermediate 4 years)
- Proven experience with test coördination activities-Must Have
- Proven experience with usage of both XML and SOAP UI-Must Have(Intermediate 4 years)
- Proven experience with usage of the test logging tool ALM QC-Must Have
- Proven experience with Waterfall methodology-Must Have
- Proven knowledge about prepayment processes within the Belgian energy market-Must Have
- Proven knowledge of French or Dutch (minimum C1 level in one of the national languages, and at least B1 level in the other)-Must Have
- Proven knowledge of the English language (minimum European level c1), able to fluently communicate in English - project language-Must Have
- Language requirement: Dutch or French at European CEFR level C1-Must Have
- Demonstrable experience as a tester in an Agile/Scrum project-Should Have
- Proven experience in test automation methods-Should Have(junior 2 years)
- Proven experience with usage of the ITSM tool - TopDesk-Should Have
- Proven experience with VB script-Should Have(Intermediate 4 years)
