Functional Analyst

I am currently looking for a Functional Analyst to join a dynamic team working within the banking and investments trading space.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of business and technology, and enjoys translating complex requirements into clear, structured solutions within an agile environment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Analyse and interpret business requirements and transform them into detailed functional and non-functional specifications
• Collaborate closely with Architects and Development teams to design robust solutions
• Define service specifications and contribute to data model design
• Write clear user stories (Jira) and maintain documentation (Confluence)
• Work in close partnership with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Scrum teams
• Support development and testing activities throughout the delivery lifecycle

What we’re looking for:

• Strong experience as a Functional Analyst (5+ years)
• Solid understanding of financial products, particularly investments and trading environments
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex problems into structured artefacts
• Technical awareness across areas such as:
• UML (activity & sequence diagrams)
• SQL
• Data/file formats (XML, JSON, CSV)
• Microservices, APIs, and modern architectures

Skills & qualities:

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
• Comfortable working across multicultural teams and with offshore vendors
• A strong team player with a proactive, problem-solving attitude

Background:

• Degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science or similar
• Multilingual (French or Dutch preferred, with fluent English)
