Freelance IT Project Manager – Voice Communication & Critical Infrastructure

Location: Brussels (Hybrid)

Contract Type: Freelance / Contractor

Languages Required: Professional proficiency in English AND either Dutch or French (Mandatory)

Our team is currently partnering with a prominent client in Belgium to secure a Senior IT Project Manager for a critical, long-term roadmap. This position plays a pivotal role in delivering large-scale, technically complex communication systems within a highly regulated, safety-conscious environment.

We are seeking a seasoned professional who can seamlessly bridge the gap between technical engineering teams and corporate stakeholders to ensure flawless project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Delivery: Lead and motivate cross-functional teams to deliver large, complex projects aligned with the client's major infrastructure roadmap.
• Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for technical and non-technical stakeholders, utilizing a dynamic communication style to influence decision-making at all organizational levels.
• Governance and Alignment: Ensure strict adherence to project timelines, prioritize goals, and manage risks and conflicts constructively.
• Client Relationship Management: Deeply understand client needs, manage expectations, and maintain robust, consultative relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Experience and Competencies

Technical & Professional Experience:

• 5 to 10 years of proven project management experience handling technically complex systems, ideally within aviation, critical infrastructure, or a safety-regulated environment.
• Deep technical understanding within the domains of Voice Technologies (VoIP, radio frequencies, and digital technologies) and Networking/IT Infrastructure (telecommunications and associated networks).
• Verified proficiency in standard project management methodologies such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile .
• Practical experience with PM tools and MS Office software, including JIRA, Microsoft Project, and Excel.
• Ability to provide client references demonstrating successful delivery of large-scale projects.

Language and Education:

• Professional fluency in English, combined with professional proficiency in either Dutch or French .
• A Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Electronics is highly preferred.
