Scrum Master

Nexeo is currently looking for a Scrum Master for one of the leading financial institutions in Belgium.

As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

Agile Facilitation & Project Follow-up

• Organize and facilitate Scrum ceremonies:
• Daily Stand-up
• Sprint Planning
• Sprint Review
• Retrospective
• Schedule and monitor key Agile delivery milestones
• Ensure the proper implementation and smooth adoption of Scrum methodology within the squad
• Support the Product Owner in backlog management and prioritization
• Assist the team in delivering Sprint Backlog items and achieving the Definition of Done (DoD)
• Monitor team capacity and velocity metrics to support planning and delivery forecasting
• Identify, track and help resolve project risks and impediments

Agile Coaching & Team Empowerment

• Coach and challenge Agile teams to continuously improve their delivery and collaboration
• Foster team self-organization and ownership
• Remove obstacles impacting team efficiency and protect the squad from external disruptions
• Promote Agile values, mindset and best practices across the organization
• Act as an Agile ambassador within the company
• Provide reporting and visibility regarding Agile maturity and Scrum adoption
• Encourage knowledge sharing, collaboration and continuous learning

Continuous Improvement & Delivery Excellence

• Create an environment of trust, transparency and open feedback
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within Agile teams
• Encourage pragmatic problem-solving and solution-oriented thinking
• Help teams improve delivery quality, predictability and efficiency
• Align team objectives with broader IT and business strategy
• Contribute to a culture focused on collaboration, autonomy and operational excellence

Profile

• Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 1 to 2 years of relevant experience as Scrum Master or within Agile environments
• Strong communication, facilitation and coaching skills
• Ability to manage priorities, risks and stakeholders efficiently
• Agile mindset with strong focus on collaboration and continuous improvement
• Autonomous, proactive and result-oriented attitude
• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills

Technical Skills

Mandatory

• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Experience with Agile reporting and follow-up tools such as Jira
• Good understanding of software development methodologies
• Good understanding of project management methodologies
• Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and team collaboration

Nice to Have

• Experience in banking, finance or insurance environments
• Knowledge of Agile metrics and reporting practices
• Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams

Languages

• Good knowledge of English
• Active knowledge of French or Dutch
• Passive understanding of the second national language
