Senior Communication Campaigns Project Manager


Job Overview

We are seeking a highly driven and strategic Senior Communication Campaigns Project Manager to lead the execution of large-scale, high-budget communication campaigns. In this role, you will oversee substantial budgets and coordinate complex, multi-channel initiatives from inception to final evaluation.

Note on Profile: We are specifically looking for a candidate with a strong, proven track record in managing large-scale commercial, agency, or corporate communication campaigns . While our unit delivers major campaigns for the European Commission, prior experience within public institutions is not required; your hands-on expertise in driving high-budget, impactful communication campaigns in the private or agency sector is what matters most.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign & Project Management

  • Framework Development: Develop comprehensive project briefs, methodologies, and tools to ensure the successful execution of high-budget communication initiatives.
  • Timeline & Progress Monitoring: Build realistic campaign timelines, manage daily operations, track progress, and coordinate input from all internal and external sources.
  • Resource & Work Allocation: Allocate resources dynamically based on campaign needs, define work packages, set clear deadlines, and provide rigorous daily follow-up.
  • Tool Optimization: Adapt project management tools to specific campaign requirements and train/mentor team members on how to use them effectively for tracking.

Strategic Coordination & Advisory

  • Strategic Input: Propose communication objectives, target audience segmentations, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to shape the overall campaign strategy.
  • Ongoing Advice: Advise stakeholders on the implementation, deployment, and continuous improvement of active communication strategies.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate projects seamlessly, fostering efficient communication and collaboration among diverse team members and external partners.

Risk Management & Quality Assurance

  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify, assess, and address potential project risks and bottlenecks, implementing swift mitigation strategies to protect campaign delivery.
  • Quality Control: Maintain exceptionally high-quality standards across the entire project lifecycle, adhering to best practices and performing strict reviews of deliverables.

Reporting, Data & Governance

  • Stakeholder Reporting: Participate in working groups and progress meetings, regularly reporting on campaign milestones, budgets, risks, and potential changes in scope.
  • Data-Driven Evaluation: Ensure the meticulous collection of project data for monitoring purposes, and contribute to independent campaign evaluations as required.
  • Documentation: Draft accurate meeting minutes, project reports, and executive updates.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 6–7 years of professional experience in project management, specifically dedicated to communication campaigns .
  • Campaign Track Record: Proven experience managing large-scale, high-budget communication campaigns (ideally within a fast-paced agency or corporate environment).
  • Sector Focus: Experience leading campaigns is highly prioritized over institutional or governmental background.
  • Skills: Outstanding organizational, risk-management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Tools: Advanced proficiency in modern project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, Jira, Trello, or similar).
  • Communication: Exceptional written and spoken English, with the ability to draft high-level reports and align diverse stakeholders.
