Senior Databricks Engineer

Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid)

€1100 per day | Long-term Freelance Contract

We’re currently supporting a major enterprise client in Brussels looking to bring on an experienced Senior Databricks Engineer for a long-term programme focused on modernising their cloud data platform.

This is a hands-on engineering role working closely with data architects, analytics teams, and business stakeholders to build scalable Databricks-based solutions across large, high-volume datasets.

The environment is heavily cloud-focused with strong adoption of Databricks, Spark, and modern lakehouse principles.

What they’re looking for:

• Strong commercial experience with Databricks in production environments
• Excellent knowledge of PySpark and Spark SQL
• Experience building Delta Lake / medallion architectures
• Strong ETL / ELT pipeline development background
• Experience with streaming pipelines and large-scale data processing
• Good understanding of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow
• Comfortable working in enterprise-scale environments with multiple stakeholders

Nice to have:

• Snowflake experience
• Terraform / CI/CD exposure
• Kafka or Spark Structured Streaming
• Experience optimising Databricks clusters and performance tuning

Contract details:

• Freelance / B2B contract
• Long-term engagement
• Hybrid working model in Brussels
• Rate up to €1100 per day depending on experience
