Freelance Project: Senior Test Engineer

Work Regime: Full‑time, hybrid (2 days onsite)

Location: Mechelen region

Languages: English (mandatory), Dutch (plus)

Role

As a Test Engineer , you are responsible for end‑to‑end validation of complex IT solutions. You combine testing with analysis, configuration, and documentation, ensuring systems perform correctly across both frontend and backend.

Responsibilities

• Perform end‑to‑end testing (INT, UAT, PRD)
• Analyze business and technical requirements
• Configure test environments and manage test data
• Create test plans and follow up on defects
• Document processes and existing solutions
• Coordinate validations and technical implementations
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners
• Support releases and fixes

Profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in testing within complex environments
• Strong experience in end‑to‑end testing (frontend & backend)
• Solid knowledge of SQL and databases
• Experience with APIs (REST/SOAP)
• Programming experience in Java and scripting (e.g. Playwright)
• Familiarity with ELK stack, GitLab and Agile methodologies
• Strong communication skills, autonomous and adaptable

Nice‑to‑Have

• Experience in IoT, mobile or integration environments
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and test frameworks
• Knowledge of billing, provisioning or system flows
