Full Stack AI Engineer / AI Product Engineer West Flanders | Full-Time - 2 days a week-on site What if you could join a company before the AI team exists — and become the engineer who helps define it? We’re hiring the first AI-focused engineering hire for one of the fastest-growing organisations in West Flanders. This is a hands-on product engineering role for someone who wants to build real AI-enabled software, not experimental side projects or gimmicky demos. ~ We’re looking for engineers who are excited about AI, but still believe great software engineering fundamentals matter. What You’ll Be Doing Building full-stack applications across frontend, backend and APIs Designing scalable and maintainable systems Working with modern LLM providers including OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini Writing and improving production prompts used in live products Using AI tooling to accelerate development responsibly Exploring emerging standards like MCP, A2A and AI skills Collaborating closely with product and leadership teams to shape the future roadmap Tech Stack React TypeScript Node.js Tailwind CSS PostgreSQL MongoDB OpenAI / Azure OpenAI Anthropic / Claude Gemini AI workflows & prompt engineering You might be a fit if you: Are a strong full-stack engineer first Understand how to ship production-grade applications Use AI tools intelligently without becoming dependent on them Care about code quality, architecture and scalability Are curious about where AI engineering is heading Want ownership and influence, not just tickets in a sprint board Why This Role Is Different Most “AI jobs” right now are either: research-heavy with little product ownership, or shallow prompt-engineering roles with weak engineering standards This role sits in the sweet spot between modern AI systems and proper software engineering. You’ll help build products that actually matter inside a company moving extremely fast and investing heavily in the future of AI-enabled software.
