We are currently looking for a Senior Actuarial Expert – Closing & Risk Monitoring for a freelance assignment with a leading international insurance company based in Brussels.
In this role, you will be responsible for the actuarial follow-up of technical results, with a strong focus on closing activities, reporting, and performance analysis across multiple business lines.
You will act as a key contributor within the actuarial function, combining analytical depth with a hands-on approach to improving processes and delivering high-quality insights.
Your responsibilities
- Monitor and calculate technical reserves, and assess the adequacy of methodologies used
- Analyse production and claims experience across portfolios
- Prepare and report quarterly technical results
- Perform actuarial studies (e.g. profitability analyses such as Boni-Mali)
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Pricing, Solvency II, IFRS17, etc.)
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of tools and processes, including automation of recurring tasks
- Provide expert actuarial input and proactive advice to stakeholders
Your profile
- Master’s degree in Actuarial Science
- At least 6 years of relevant actuarial experience
- Strong background in closing and reporting activities (IFRS4-type environment)
- Excellent knowledge of the insurance industry
Technical skills
- Advanced Excel skills (mandatory), good command of Access
- Programming skills (Python, SAS or VBA)
Languages
- Fluent in French and English
- Dutch is a plus
