Scrum Master

Nexeo is currently looking for a Scrum Master for one of the leading financial institutions in Belgium.

As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

Agile Squad Facilitation & Delivery

• Facilitate and coordinate Scrum ceremonies including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives
• Ensure proper application of Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban within the squad
• Support the squad in achieving Sprint Goals, Definition of Done (DoD) and delivery objectives
• Track squad capacity, velocity and Agile metrics to support planning and continuous improvement
• Help the squad identify and overcome blockers, risks and impediments impacting delivery
• Ensure smooth collaboration between cross-functional squad members across analysis, development and testing activities

Agile Coaching & Continuous Improvement

• Act as a servant leader and Agile coach for the squad
• Promote Agile mindset, collaboration and autonomy within the team
• Coach and challenge squad members to continuously improve delivery efficiency and team maturity
• Define and continuously adapt the squad strategy together with team members
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Ensure Agile techniques and practices are fully understood and effectively applied by all stakeholders

Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Protect the squad from internal and external distractions to maximize focus and value delivery
• Facilitate effective communication between the squad, Product Owner and stakeholders
• Support the Product Owner in backlog management and prioritization activities
• Collaborate with Cluster Scrum Masters, Asset Management teams and third-party providers when applicable
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders in an international environment
• Ensure transparent communication and alignment across all project contributors

Delivery Governance & Agile Environment

• Ensure proper follow-up of Agile processes, reporting and delivery governance
• Promote best practices in Agile delivery and software development methodologies
• Support squads working in rapidly evolving and complex IT environments
• Contribute to improving Agile maturity and delivery standards across teams

Profile

• Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Scrum Master
• Strong experience in Agile environments and cross-functional squads
• Proven experience in delivery follow-up and stakeholder coordination
• Strong communication and facilitation skills
• Ability to manage complex environments and multiple stakeholders
• Stress resistant, adaptable and solution-oriented mindset
• Curious, proactive and eager to continuously learn and improve
• Team player with strong empathy and coaching abilities

Technical Skills

Mandatory

• Knowledge of Agile reporting and follow-up tools (e.g. Rally)
• Sound knowledge of software development methodologies
• Good understanding of project management methodologies
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and techniques (Scrum, Kanban)

Nice to Have

• Understanding of automated testing and continuous integration tooling
• Knowledge of Payments domain is a strong asset
• Experience in banking or financial services environments

Languages

• Good knowledge of English
• Fluent in Dutch or French
• Knowledge of the second national language is a plus
