As a Data (Management) Engineer, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining LynxCare's clinical databases and data pipelines, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of our data processes and quality procedures .

Job Description
As a Clinical Data (Management) Engineer, you work in a small team of Data (Management) Engineers to develop high quality data flows to successfully build and maintain real-world-evidence databases. This includes:
- Leverage the unique combination of your technical skills and your clinical insights to get the most out of real-life health care data, facilitating Real-World Evidence studies that contribute to improved patient care across Europe.
- Collaborate with hospitals on identifying and extracting the right health data sources.
- Transform, enhance and curate data to build clinical databases in OMOP format for hospitals across Europe in multiple therapeutic areas, including cardiology and oncology.
- Manage and execute data uploads, automate data quality assessment and work on scalable data transformation pipelines (in collaboration with other Data engineers).
- Collaborate with our NLP engineers to validate and further improve the quality of our NLP-data mining on clinical notes. Trustworthy NLP-enrichment of databases is the core of our business.
- Be a key player in realizing Real-World Evidence studies with real impact on patients and actively contribute to scaling our work across Europe.
You have:
- Experience manipulating (large) datasets including data transformation and data quality control
- Programming skills in Python (Pandas), Spark and SQL
- Training or interest in (para)medical topics or health care
- Team player mindset with an analytic problem-solving mind and an eye for detail
- Effective communicator with diligence and strong sense of accountability
- Languages: English (Professional)
You have (nice to have):
(= technologies/expertise you will be exposed to, but for which previous experience is not a must to be considered for the job):
- Experience with Power BI, Metabase or other BI-tools
- Experience with Azure and/or Kubernetes
- Knowledge of medical ontology libraries (e.g. UMLS, Athena) and OMOP CDM
- Experience with NLP or other types of machine learning
- Dutch (Professional)
- French, German or Spanish (Basic proficiency or higher)
