GL Accountant

We’re working on behalf of a trusted client, searching for a motivated GL Accountant to join their finance team in Kortrijk and play a key role in ensuring the integrity of their financial operations.

As a GL Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the general ledger, supporting month-end and year-end closings, and ensuring accurate financial reporting across the organization. You’ll work closely with colleagues in finance and other departments, contributing to a collaborative and international environment where your expertise truly makes an impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities
• Post journal entries and accruals accurately and on time
• Support financial reporting and statutory compliance
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
• Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors
• Ensure VAT and tax-related accounting compliance
• Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives
• Support AP/AR and treasury activities when needed

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in a GL Accounting or similar finance role
• Strong understanding of Belgian accounting principles
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
• Excellent Excel skills and analytical mindset
• Accurate, organized, and proactive working style
• Strong communication skills in English; Dutch or French is a plus
