SAP EWM Consultant (Freelance)

We are currently looking for a Freelance Senior SAP EWM Consultant with strong MFS (Material Flow System) experience to support one of our key clients in Flanders. This is an exciting opportunity to join a large-scale logistics and warehouse automation program with a strong long-term roadmap extending through 2028.

About the Project

You will be joining a high-impact transformation initiative focused on warehouse optimization and automation across multiple sites. The program aims to enhance operational efficiency through advanced SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) capabilities and tight integration with automated material handling systems such as conveyors, sorters, and AS/RS solutions.

The environment is dynamic and fast-paced, with a strong emphasis on innovation, scalability, and performance. As a senior consultant, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between SAP systems and physical automation technologies.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and support the design, configuration, and optimization of SAP EWM processes
• Implement and manage MFS integration with warehouse automation systems (PLC-controlled equipment)
• Ensure seamless communication between SAP EWM and material handling equipment (MHE)
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and automation engineers
• Drive end-to-end solution delivery , from blueprinting to go-live and hypercare
• Identify process improvements and contribute to continuous optimization initiatives
• Support testing phases (SIT/UAT) and ensure high-quality system performance
• Provide expert guidance on best practices for warehouse automation and EWM architecture

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Senior SAP EWM Consultant in complex environments
• Strong hands-on expertise in SAP EWM MFS (Material Flow System)
• Experience with automated warehouse technologies (conveyors, cranes, AS/RS, robotics, etc.)
• Solid understanding of logistics and warehouse processes (inbound, outbound, internal movements)
• Experience with EWM integration with external systems and PLCs
• Ability to work autonomously and drive deliverables in a freelance capacity
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Language Requirements

• French: Mandatory
• English: Professional proficiency required
• Dutch: Nice to have
