The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for shaping and delivering end-to-end data solutions, from pipeline design through to implementation. This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, translating requirements into technical solutions, while also providing guidance to the wider team and promoting best practices.
Design, build, and support scalable ETL workflows using Talend, enabling efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from multiple source systems into a centralised data warehouse
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to capture data requirements and deliver integration solutions aligned with business goals
Develop and manage data pipelines supporting real-time or near-real-time processing, leveraging technologies such as Kafka or equivalent streaming platforms
Design, implement, and maintain relational database structures with a focus on data quality, integrity, and security controls
Proactively monitor data workflows, diagnose issues, and resolve incidents quickly to minimise operational impact
Produce clear technical documentation and ensure effective knowledge sharing across the team
Stay current with evolving trends, tools, and best practices within the data engineering and integration space
Recommend and introduce new technologies or approaches to improve data management capabilities and processes
Minimum of 7 years’ experience working with data technologies and engineering practices
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence stakeholders
Proven ability to balance independent working with effective collaboration in team environments, even under competing priorities and deadlines
Comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment
