Senior Linux / Open Systems Engineer (Containers & DevSecOps)

For a long-term framework agreement with the Flemish Government, we are looking for an experienced Senior Linux / Open Systems Engineer for an exciting assignment in the Brussels region (hybrid setup).

Location: Brussels (near Brussels North Station)

Start: ASAP

Workload: Full-time and long-term mission

Hybrid: 1–2 days onsite / rest remote

Languages: Dutch & English

Your Role

As a Senior Linux / Open Systems Engineer, you will contribute to container and Open Systems projects, combining deep technical expertise with a strong customer focus.

You will:

• Work on Linux/Unix and container-based projects
• Deliver high-quality solutions tailored to client needs
• Build strong, long-term customer relationships
• Inspire colleagues and share your technical expertise
• Actively contribute through documentation, presentations, and coaching
• Continuously grow your knowledge in Open Systems & DevSecOps

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and maintain:
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Container platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes)
• Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization
• Apply DevSecOps principles using tools such as:
• Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub, Terraform
• Provide support across the full lifecycle (installation, configuration, upgrades)
• Work both independently and collaboratively within project teams
• Proactively suggest improvements and optimizations

Your Profile

• 6–10 years of experience in Open Systems environments
• Strong expertise in: Linux (RHEL) / Containers (OpenShift, Kubernetes) / DevSecOps & CNCF tooling
• Solid experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of DevSecOps tools
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• Ownership mindset and proactive attitude
• Passion for technology and customer success
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• Fluent in Dutch and English
