The Application Owner / Ops Engineer is an integral part of a development team. Collaboration is multidisciplinary, and each team consists of a Scrum Master, Business Analysts, Developers, Testers, a Product Owner, as well as an AO/Ops Engineer. The AO/Ops Engineer is responsible within the development team for the management and proper functioning of a number of business applications and acts as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) regarding these applications. He/she is in contact with the helpdesk or technical expert regarding structural issues, with both IT and the business (who in turn represent the users), as well as with external parties. Monitoring and reporting on the team components running in production. Working with the team to find the cause and possible solutions for problems in production. Helping to test the newly developed software to ensure that it continues to function stably. Testing and validating "fixes" for problems in production. Providing support with the release. As a team member, the AO/Ops Engineer also contributes to the development of these business applications. He/she always does this in close collaboration with fellow team members.
