Senior Mechatronics & Electrical Design Engineer – 6 Month Contract – Belgium Location: Antwerp Region, Belgium Contract Length: 6 Months (Extension Possible) Type: Freelance / Contract Start: ASAP Industry: Machinery A leading engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Mechatronics & Electrical Design Engineer to support a range of innovative industrial automation and machinery projects. This role would suit a hands-on engineer with a strong background spanning electrical design, mechatronics integration, control systems and industrial equipment development , capable of taking ownership of projects from concept through to implementation. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers and production stakeholders to develop, optimise and deliver technical solutions for complex industrial applications. Responsibilities Design and develop electrical and mechatronic systems for industrial machinery and automation projects Create and modify electrical schematics, control panels and system architectures Support equipment integration, commissioning and troubleshooting activities Produce technical documentation, calculations and engineering drawings Work closely with suppliers and customers to develop optimal technical solutions Support manufacturing, assembly and testing activities Participate in design reviews, technical meetings and project planning Drive continuous improvement initiatives and engineering innovation Required Experience Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar Strong experience in electrical design and industrial engineering environments Hands-on experience with: EPLAN AutoCAD Electrical Electrical control systems Industrial automation equipment Electromechanical systems Experience delivering projects within manufacturing, automation, machinery, energy or process industries Strong understanding of motors, drives, sensors, control panels and industrial electrical systems Ability to work independently within project-based environments Desirable Skills PLC programming and troubleshooting Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric or WEG technologies SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, Inventor or Fusion 360 Instrumentation and control systems Commissioning and FAT/SAT activities Experience working with international suppliers and engineering teams What’s on Offer?
