Storage Engineer

Our blue-chip client is looking for a Storage Engineer to work on a long term freelance/contract onsite in either South Belgium or North Holland. Candidates would need to be fluent in English and either French/Dutch. A screening/vetting would be required if accepted.

The Role: Agile Storage Squad system engineer

• Agile Delivery: Active participation in an Agile Storage Squad , contributing to sprints and stand-ups to ensure high-availability infrastructure.
• Rigorous Compliance: Ensure 100% adherence to compliance and audit standards , maintaining detailed documentation for every change and incident.

Technical Skills & Expertise

• SAN Infrastructure: Expert management of HPE XP8 arrays and Brocade SAN switches (zoning, provisioning, tuning).
• Multi-Platform Integration: Advanced LUN mapping and connectivity for VMware and RHEL workloads.
• Full-Stack Troubleshooting: OS-level diagnostics ( Linux/Windows ) for third-party storage management software.
• Security & Encryption: Practical application of TLS certificates and fundamental security hardening principles.
• Object Storage (is a Plus): Hands-on experience with Cloudian or S3-compatible storage solutions.

Key Activities

• Operational Maintenance: Execute proactive patching, firmware upgrades , and lifecycle refreshes across the storage estate.
• Change & Incident Management: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of system changes and incidents within a highly monitored environment.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and tune the storage environment to meet strict financial-grade SLAs
