Job Description

I am currently seeking a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join a major project in Belgium. The successful candidate will support the commercial delivery of mechanical packages across a large-scale mission-critical project, working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and senior commercial management throughout the project lifecycle. This position offers excellent exposure to complex engineering environments and long-term opportunities within a growing European project pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand project contract documentation
• Prepare and analyse supplier and subcontractor enquiries
• Prepare and issue contract documentation across the supply chain
• Monitor scope changes and manage variation pricing
• Prepare and agree monthly progress applications
• Manage financial and contractual control of subcontract accounts
• Issue contractual notices and assess loss, expense, and acceleration claims
• Produce monthly commercial project reports and forecasts
• Monitor project cash flow and commercial performance
• Support commercial risk management and reporting activities
• Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and internal project teams

Requirements

• Degree qualified or relevant industry experience
• 3–5 years’ experience within a Quantity Surveying role
• Strong understanding of construction and engineering contracts
• Previous experience working with Mechanical work packages
• Good commercial and contractual knowledge
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong Excel capability
