Job Description
I am currently seeking a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join a major project in Belgium. The successful candidate will support the commercial delivery of mechanical packages across a large-scale mission-critical project, working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and senior commercial management throughout the project lifecycle. This position offers excellent exposure to complex engineering environments and long-term opportunities within a growing European project pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Review and understand project contract documentation
- Prepare and analyse supplier and subcontractor enquiries
- Prepare and issue contract documentation across the supply chain
- Monitor scope changes and manage variation pricing
- Prepare and agree monthly progress applications
- Manage financial and contractual control of subcontract accounts
- Issue contractual notices and assess loss, expense, and acceleration claims
- Produce monthly commercial project reports and forecasts
- Monitor project cash flow and commercial performance
- Support commercial risk management and reporting activities
- Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and internal project teams
Requirements
- Degree qualified or relevant industry experience
- 3–5 years’ experience within a Quantity Surveying role
- Strong understanding of construction and engineering contracts
- Previous experience working with Mechanical work packages
- Good commercial and contractual knowledge
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong Excel capability
