A specialised engineering company in Genk working within the automotive industry is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to support the development and delivery of automated production systems.

The role combines hands-on PLC programming and automation line development with coordination responsibilities across smaller project teams.

You will work closely with engineering and production teams on automation projects involving industrial machinery, production cells and automated manufacturing lines.

Role Responsibilities

• Develop and modify PLC software for automated production and assembly lines
• Support design and implementation of industrial automation systems
• Commission and test automation equipment on site
• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI and control system faults
• Support project coordination activities across automation projects
• Provide technical guidance to a junior engineer within the team
• Work closely with mechanical and electrical teams during system integration and testing

Requirements

• Strong experience within industrial automation and PLC programming
• Experience developing automation systems within manufacturing environments
• Experience with automated production or assembly lines
• Ability to support both technical delivery and small-scale project coordination
• Strong troubleshooting and commissioning experience
• English required, Dutch beneficial
