The URGO Group specializes in wounds treatment and general healthcare. This familial French Group, founded 1880 and now 4000-employees strong worldwide, gives access to a wide range of healthcare solutions, from skincare to food supplements to nasal sprays to period pain relief devices.

Our Belgian subsidiary, based in Uccle, distributes a lot of different brands on the Belgian market: Urgo, Mercurochrome, Alvityl, Inotyol, Humer... What is special about our belgian site? We are a smaller SME structure inside a bigger corporate group. Each one of our roles entails both operational and strategic responsibilities, ensuring strong impact on a day-to-day basis.

As part of the deployment of our HR strategy, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented HR Intern to support us in the day-to-day management of Human Resources as well as various cross-functional HR projects .

This internship will give you hands-on exposure to a generalist HR role within a Belgian SME, combining both operational HR administration and strategic HR development initiatives.

Your Mission

Working closely with the local HR Manager, you will support the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, HR administration (payroll, compensation & benefits), development, and training. In parallel, you will contribute to strategic and cross-functional HR projects, particularly around HR Compliance.

RECRUITMENT

  • You participate in intake meetings to launch recruitment processes
  • You collaborate with managers to draft and publish job postings
  • You collect applications and conduct initial candidate screenings
  • You also participate in interviews to learn how to identify strong profiles, assess cultural and role fit, and prepare salary negotiations

ONBOARDING

  • You learn how to deliver best-in-class onboarding, both from an administrative and strategic perspective
  • You ensure compliance regarding social documents, official formalities, and mandatory trainings, and you support the coordination of the 6-month onboarding journey

HR ADMINISTRATION

  • You build trusted relationships with employees through the day-to-day topics you handle with them (absence management, HR tools support, liaison with insurance providers, payroll-related questions, cafeteria plan, company car fleet management, and mobility budget)
  • You learn how to perform rigorous payroll checks and administer extra-legal benefits
  • You support the formalization and implementation of the cafeteria plan and mobility budget together with our external HR partners

DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING

  • You ensure that each role has a complete and validated job description
  • You execute the training plan by identifying providers, handling registrations, organizing internal training sessions, and monitoring the training plan (feedback, attendance certificates, subsidy applications, etc.)

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL PROJECTS

  • You act as our sharp eye for HR compliance: conducting audits of HR and social documents and ensuring employee files are complete and compliant
  • You contribute to the development, implementation, and day-to-day application of HR procedures and policies across the organization

Your Profile

Knowledge & Skills:

  • You are currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Labour Law, Business Administration, or a related field
  • You are ideally enrolled in a Master’s degree or in your final year of Bachelor studies
  • You are fluent in French; Dutch is considered a strong asset. If you do not speak Dutch, a good level of English is required
  • You are ideally comfortable with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Soft Skills:

You demonstrate the key qualities expected from a strong HR professional:

  • You are organized, rigorous, and detail-oriented
  • You have a strong service mindset and enjoy supporting employees
  • You demonstrate discretion, diplomacy, and professionalism
  • You have strong communication skills

And you may be our perfect match if, on top of that…

  • You have an interest in labour law and how it translates concretely into company practices
  • You are curious and proactive
  • You enjoy learning and continuously improving — striving for excellence is part of your mindset
  • You know how to be assertive while valuing collaboration and co-construction

Why Join Us?

  • A hands-on and highly formative experience in generalist HR
  • Full immersion into the HR operations of a Belgian SME
