Role: Lead Data Architect & Coordinator
Location: 1731 Zellik, Belgium
Duration: 01/06/2026 - 31/12/2028
Language: English, Dutch
Description
What this role really is
- You are ultimately responsible for the data platform of an international enterprise. You are building that platform from scratch in Microsoft Fabric — an environment that features native AI capabilities, a central data lake , integrated reporting, and advanced analytics . The old environment is being phased out while you set up the new one. You oversee the architecture and direction, manage the external Fabric partner, and ensure that the platform delivers on its promises to the business.
- The same applies to the middleware layer that connects systems and partners. You have a good conceptual understanding of how integrations work — partners are ready for the technical depth. You safeguard the architecture, stability, and direction.
- You work closely with the Digital Board and the CIO. You translate business goals into data models. You digitize KPIs that currently reside in Excel. You build the foundation upon which Client can run AI applications tomorrow.
- But you are more than a technical architect. You are the internal driving force who positions data as a strategic asset within Client . You prepare people, roles, and the organization for a data-driven way of working — not by imposing it, but by leading by example, explaining it, and bringing others along in the possibilities.
What you realize
- One uniform, reliable data flow across all systems, countries, and processes
- One source of truth for master data: customers, vehicles, drivers, and locations
- KPIs that move from definition to a reproducible dashboard — and are actively used
- Real-time reporting and analytics across domains and countries
- A data architecture built AI-by-design that makes the organization AI-ready
- Structural compliance with privacy, AI and cybersecurity standards (GDPR, NIS2, AI Act) becoming data-driven step by step
What awaits you
- A greenfield Microsoft Fabric platform — you build it from scratch, a partner assists with execution
- Integration flows across five countries that become stable, documented, and scalable
- A central MDM layer for consistent master data: customers, vehicles, drivers
- Technical management of external Fabric and middleware partners
- AI projects — from initial proof of concept to concrete rollout within the organization
- The role of internal ambassador who puts data on the map as a strategic asset
Who we are looking for
- You have solid knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and its capabilities — from data lake to reporting, from analytics to AI. You can technically manage an external partner and assess their content. You understand how integration platforms work conceptually and know what constitutes good and bad integration work.
- You are passionate about AI and its possibilities — you see what is coming and want to lay the foundations for it now. You understand that data is the fuel for everything that follows, and you can convey that conviction to the people around you.
