Senior Operational Risk Consultant - Insurance Sector
We are currently partnering with a fast-growing consulting firm specializing in the insurance industry to recruit a Senior Operational Risk Consultant. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about operational risk management and eager to support leading insurers through a period of significant transformation.
The insurance landscape is evolving rapidly. Digitalisation, increasing regulatory expectations, outsourcing, ESG considerations, AI adoption, and third-party risk are reshaping how insurers manage operational resilience. Our client is looking for a consultant who wants to be at the forefront of these developments, helping organizations strengthen their risk frameworks while enabling sustainable growth.
As a Senior Operational Risk Consultant, you will:
Advise insurance clients on operational risk frameworks, governance models, and control environments (including Solvency II, COSO, ISO 31000, etc.)
Lead and deliver operational risk assessments, RCSAs, scenario analyses, and control design initiatives
Support clients in areas such as third-party risk, outsourcing risk, business continuity, and operational resilience
Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Internal Audit functions
Promote a strong risk culture by coaching and supporting client teams on operational risk best practices
Mentor junior consultants and contribute to methodology development and thought leadership initiatives
8+ years of experience in operational risk management within insurance or consulting
~ Experience working closely with senior stakeholders and executive management
~ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
~ Professional fluency in English and either Dutch or French
~ A genuine interest in and passion for the insurance sector
