Head of Business Development


eCarsTrade is digital car marketplace, serving professional buyers in more than 40 countries. Through our online auction platform, we offer over 15.000 vehicles per week, sourced from leading fleet owners, leasing and rental companies, as well as banks and dealerships.

Over the last 3 years we have achieved a 50% YoY profitable growth, building a leading market position in Europe. As we enter our next growth phase, we are seeking a driven business development manager, to help maximize this momentum and unlock significant new growth opportunities.

The Role

As Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our supplier network. You will play a crucial role in acquiring new suppliers, optimizing and activating existing relationships, and ensuring a healthy conversion on the market place.

You will work closely with the CCO and the commercial team to support eCarsTrade's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and strengthen existing relationships with suppliers (leasing companies, rental firms, dealers)
  • Activate "sleeping" suppliers through proactive outreach and value proposition
  • Identify and recruit new suppliers in the lease, rental, and dealer markets
  • Negotiate cooperation agreements and terms
  • Represent eCarsTrade at networking events, conferences, and partner meetings
  • Monitor the balance between purchase prices and selling prices
  • Analyze bidding patterns and sales results to enable price optimization
  • Collaborate with the auction and pricing team to translate market insights into action
  • Monitor competitor pricing and market trends to remain competitive

Data & Performance

  • Structure and maintain a supplier’s CRM
  • Use data to support decisions (conversion ratios, supplier performance, customer lifetime value)
  • Report regularly on pipeline, acquisition results, and supplier activation
  • Implement KPIs for supplier management and business development
  • Gather market insights on lease and rental markets, fleet dynamics, and vehicle valuation
  • Getting market insights on the vehicle demand
  • Contribute to go-to-market strategies for new supplier segments
  • Identify new opportunities for collaboration and revenue streams

Your Profile

  • 5+ years in business development, sales, or supplier management; preferably in automotive, remarketing, or B2B marketplace environments
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry, focusing on vehicle leasing, car rental, dealerships, and fleet management
  • Strong data-driven mindset with experience in price analysis and performance tracking
  • Proven ability to close business deals and build long-term relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English; business-level French considered a plus
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and pursues results in a fast-growing environment
  • Empathic, people-oriented approach with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Existing network within the automotive, lease, or rental sector
  • Knowledge of vehicle valuation and used car market dynamics
  • Knowledge of additional European languages
