Data Governance Manager

I’m working with a leading client looking for a Data Governance professional to support the rollout of their governance framework on a long-term contract.

You’ll oversee areas such as Business Glossary, Lineage, and Data Quality, working with Business and IT stakeholders to deliver practical solutions and improve data transparency, while ensuring alignment with regulations like BCBS239 and Solvency II.

Contract details:

• Long-term contract - 6 month contract to start

• Brussels based

• Hybrid working

• French or Dutch required with English

A leading financial institution is expanding its Central Data Governance team as part of a major regulatory programme (incl. BCBS 239). The role focuses on strengthening and validating data governance practices across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and enhance the Data Governance framework (definitions, lineage, data quality, controls)
• Work on core areas: data taxonomy, lineage, and quality
• Collaborate with Business, IT, and Data stakeholders
• Validate that governance standards are properly applied
• Improve data transparency, quality, and regulatory compliance
• Ensure alignment with regulations (e.g. BCBS 239, Solvency II)

Profile

• Experience in Data Governance / Data Management
• Experience with BCBS 239 or strong governance background in banking/insurance
• Solid understanding of data lineage, quality, and governance frameworks
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Pragmatic, structured, and delivery-oriented

Nice to Have

• Background in risk or finance
• French and/or Dutch + English
