Are you an experienced Senior Accountant ready to take ownership in a dynamic, fast-evolving organization in the Ghent region?

We are partnering with a growing and financially strong company looking for a freelance Chief Accountant to reinforce their finance team during a key transformation phase. This is not just a support role — you will be a true business partner and have direct impact on financial performance and reporting quality.

Your Impact

As Senior Accountant, you will:

• Take ownership of monthly, quarterly and yearly closings
• Prepare and review VAT returns and tax declarations
• Ensure accurate BE GAAP reporting (IFRS is a plus)
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis
• Support audits and act as key contact for external auditors
• Optimize accounting processes and internal controls
• Coach junior team members when needed
• Support finance transformation or ERP improvement projects

Your Profile

• 10+ years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP
• Experience in complex environments (SME, scale-up or international group)
• Hands-on and autonomous
• Strong analytical mindset
• Fluent in Dutch, good command of English
• Immediately available or available at short notice
