Senior Technical Writer

BES is recruiting a Technical Writer on behalf of its client, a company active in the medical device sector.

Based at the Belgian headquarters, you will join the Documentation Team and contribute to the creation and maintenance of high-quality technical documentation for advanced medical technologies . In this role, you will transform complex engineering and clinical information into clear, structured, and user-friendly manuals intended for clinical and technical users worldwide.

Your Responsibilities:

• Create, update, and maintain large-scale technical documentation , including clinical user manuals (up to 2,000+ pages), system descriptions, installation procedures, accelerator guides, and site-specific documents.
• Collect, consolidate, and align technical inputs from multiple stakeholders such as engineers, designers, testing teams, project managers, and documentation specialists .
• Structure and organize information to ensure clarity, consistency, and usability across all documentation sets.
• Translate complex technical concepts into simplified, structured technical English for non-native English-speaking users (physicists, therapists, and clinical staff).
• Contribute to both global standard documentation and customized site-specific documentation for Proton Therapy centers worldwide.
• Ensure documentation quality, consistency, and compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Promote best practices in terminology management, reuse strategies, single-sourcing, and structured authoring .

Your Profile:

• Master’s degree in Engineering or Sciences (electromechanical, electronics, biomedical, physics, or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in technical writing .
• Experience with structured authoring tools and standards ( DITA XML, S1000D, SGML ) is a strong asset.
• Experience in documentation migration projects is a plus.
• Strong ability to understand complex technical systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic).
• Comfortable interpreting engineering drawings, technical plans, and schematics .
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to simplify and restructure complex information .
• Strong technical curiosity and ability to quickly understand new systems.
• Fluent in English ; French is an asset.
• Autonomous, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset .
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams .
