Job context:
• Be part of an operational team of 9 people, who provide OT services to a variety of internal ENGIE clients: Mainly colleagues from power generation, but also trading, facility management, gas storage.
• We offer services which are mostly based on AVEVA PI. This is a software platform which includes an historian database to archive process data, allow calculations on the data and then provide it back to the users through websites, Excel reports or external applications as PowerBI, AWS, … The whole of this service is known within ENGIE as the Robin platform.
• Our team, the Robin Competence Center (RobinCC) takes care of the Robin services: Installation and configuration of the servers, interfaces and client software.
Close monitoring and incident management of all our Robin systems: Checking the data sources, performing checklists.
User support for PI calculations, analytical models (AF), tag management
User training of PI applications
Small, custom web and application development (mostly in .NET, HTML5, Python, ...)
• Robin currently serves over 4.000 users, while we have connected over 400 data sources to the historian database. Most of our ENGIE clients are located in Europe, but we also provide services in Latin-America, the Middle-East and Australia.
Your specific role:
• Be part of the Operations team with the RobinCC, and focus on the keep-it-running tasks of the various PI systems: Monitoring, incident management, user support.
• Once a week, you act as the Single Point Of Contact (SPOC) of the team towards our end-users, and you are first-line responsible for the incident management. This is an alternating role between colleagues.
• As your experience grows, you will also be assigned more implementation or project tasks, e.g. to install and configure new PI interfaces, set up new data flows to AWS, develop small scripts, perform data migration tasks,
Requested profile:
• You have an IT background through studies, experience or a high interest. You are curious to work in a specific world between IT and OT, closely linked to an industrial environment.
• You like solving IT problems, both simple as more complex ones – you have an analytical mind. You understand that you can rely on your colleagues to help get the job done.
• Preferable you have some experience with real-time systems, SCADAs or process historians. All-round knowledge of the AVEVA PI platform is of course a plus. If however you do not have these PI competences, we will provide training on the job.
• You have a minimum working experience of 2 years in IT, with knowledge of any of the following: RDBMS, SQL, Web APIs, HTML5, Python. The major Windows Operating Systems and infrastructure are well known to you, as is basic network knowledge.
• You will be in direct contact with users, other IT and business teams: You know how to communicate clearly about IT issues to users and your colleagues.
• You are a team player and motivated to work in an operational environment. Proactivity and feeling responsible for your tasks is very important.
• Short missions abroad are not a problem for you, although this is rather exceptional.
o Language knowledge: Dutch and French: One of the two very good, the other good and willing to speak it.
o English: Very good
o Other languages are a plus.
• You have a car and driver’s license. Our aim is to be close to the business, so sporadically an on-site visit can be a part of the job.
Place of work and office hours:
• Your office will be at ENGIE Linkebeek, Rodestraat 125, 1630 Linkebeek, Belgium
• A minimum presence in the office of 3 days per week is required. Work@home is possible for the remainder of days.
o Flexible hours apply, with a workday that starts no later than 09:00 and does not end before 16:00. During the SPOC role within the team, the following exception applies: The day before your SPOC role: Workday does not end before 17:00
o During the SPOC day: Workday starts at 8:00.
Contract duration:
• Initial estimated number of days: 180 or estimated number of hours: 1.440.
• If you can offer a solid added value to the Robin team, we are open for a mid to long-time commitment.
