Functional Analyst - Trading

For a leading international banking player based in Belgium, we are looking for a Senior Functional Analyst to strengthen a Trading squad within an Investment & Markets environment. Complex banking context, high‑impact projects, Agile mindset and a strong focus on services and data flows. Your role As a Functional Analyst, you will play a key role in translating business requirements related to Trading, Investments and Advisory activities into clear functional and non‑functional specifications for IT teams. Your responsibilities include: Analysing and structuring business requirements Writing functional and non‑functional specifications Defining and documenting user stories (Jira) and functional documentation (Confluence) Designing services, processes and flows (UML) Working closely with the Product Owner, Business Analyst, Architects and development teams Supporting teams during development, testing and UAT phases Contributing within an Agile / Scrum environment, interacting with local and offshore teams Your profile Minimum 5 years of experience as a Functional Analyst in a banking environment Strong knowledge of Investments / Trading / Markets Excellent analytical and communication skills Comfortable in modern technical environments: UML, SQL APIs, micro‑services, data flows XML / JSON formats Jira, Confluence Good understanding of front‑to‑back banking flows Native Dutch or French, with fluent English Team player, autonomous, detail‑oriented and quality‑driven What’s in it for you Long‑term assignment in an international context Modern and challenging technical environment Strong collaboration between business and IT Real impact on Markets & Trading activities
