Functional Analyst - Trading

For a leading international banking player based in Belgium, we are looking for a Senior Functional Analyst to strengthen a Trading squad within an Investment & Markets environment.

Complex banking context, high‑impact projects, Agile mindset and a strong focus on services and data flows.

Your role

As a Functional Analyst, you will play a key role in translating business requirements related to Trading, Investments and Advisory activities into clear functional and non‑functional specifications for IT teams.

Your responsibilities include:

• Analysing and structuring business requirements
• Writing functional and non‑functional specifications
• Defining and documenting user stories (Jira) and functional documentation (Confluence)
• Designing services, processes and flows (UML)
• Working closely with the Product Owner, Business Analyst, Architects and development teams
• Supporting teams during development, testing and UAT phases
• Contributing within an Agile / Scrum environment, interacting with local and offshore teams

Your profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Functional Analyst in a banking environment
• Strong knowledge of Investments / Trading / Markets
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Comfortable in modern technical environments:
• UML, SQL
• APIs, micro‑services, data flows
• XML / JSON formats
• Jira, Confluence
• Good understanding of front‑to‑back banking flows
• Native Dutch or French, with fluent English
• Team player, autonomous, detail‑oriented and quality‑driven
