We are currently supporting a key industrial client in their search for a Freelance PLC Engineer with strong expertise in Siemens control systems.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-impact automation projects within a fast-paced engineering environment.

Role Overview:

You will be responsible for the development, modification, and optimisation of PLC software, primarily using Siemens platforms (S7 / TIA Portal). The role involves working closely with engineering and production teams to deliver robust, efficient, and scalable automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, program, and modify Siemens PLCs (S7, TIA Portal)

• Perform commissioning and debugging of automation systems

• Troubleshoot and resolve PLC and control system issues on-site

• Work with HMI/SCADA systems (e.g. WinCC)

• Support system integration and optimisation of existing processes

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on automation projects

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a PLC Engineer working with Siemens controls

• Strong knowledge of TIA Portal, S7 (300/400/1200/1500)

• Experience with commissioning and on-site support

• Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems (WinCC or similar)

• Background in industrial environments (manufacturing, logistics, energy, etc.)

• Ability to work independently in a freelance capacity

Contract Details:

• Freelance / Contract role

• Competitive hourly rate
