Associate Director – Competition Economics (German Speaker) | Brussels

We are working with a leading global expert advisory firm specialising in economics, disputes, and forensic analysis. The business supports clients on complex, high-value competition economics matters and litigation support. The firm has a strong and growing European practice and offers exposure to intellectually rigorous, expert-led engagements across multiple jurisdictions.

Role

As an Associate Director you will take ownership of complex competition projects (Mergers & Litigation), working closely with senior experts and client stakeholders on international engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead competition economics projects
• Conduct economic and quantitative analysis to support regulatory and competition authority submissions
• Develop and review complex economic and financial models
• Support expert reports and client deliverables for merger investigations and antitrust matters
• Manage and mentor junior team members across analytical work streams
• Engage with senior stakeholders and contribute to client-facing discussions
• Support business development activity including proposals and pitch materials
• Work on cross-border matters, including German-language engagements

Key Skills

• Strong background in competition economics, industrial economics, or applied microeconomics
• Experience within economic consulting, competition advisory, or regulatory environments
• Fluency in German and English (essential)
• Strong quantitative, econometric, or financial modelling skills
• Experience working on mergers, antitrust, or competition litigation cases
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing for technical audiences
• Ability to manage multiple complex work streams in a project-based environment
