Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive A–Z & GL Accountant to join our finance team in Kortrijk. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle from A to Z, with a strong focus on general ledger accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient month-end and year-end closing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Full-cycle accounting (A–Z)

• Manage end-to-end accounting processes, from journal entries to financial statements
• Ensure accurate and timely booking of all financial transactions
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a regular basis

General Ledger (GL) management

• Maintain and monitor the general ledger structure
• Post and review GL entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments
• Ensure proper allocation of costs and revenues

Month-end & year-end closing

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
• Support preparation of statutory accounts and audit files
• Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits

Reporting & analysis

• Prepare financial reports and variance analyses
• Support management with financial insights and KPI reporting
• Ensure compliance with local GAAP and company policies

Process improvement

• Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and systems
• Support automation and digitalization initiatives within finance

Education & experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• 2–5 years of experience in general ledger or A–Z accounting roles
• Experience in an international or multi-entity environment is a plus

Technical skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (BE GAAP; IFRS is a plus)
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
• Advanced Excel skills

Soft skills

• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Good communication skills in Dutch and English (French is a plus)
• Team player with a proactive attitude
