The Infrastructure Solution Architect acts as a bridge between development teams (Information Systems), data teams, and infrastructure teams. The role focuses on designing high-level infrastructure architectures that support application and data solutions, primarily within a cloud environment.

The architect ensures that all solutions align with business requirements, as well as existing technical and security standards. When necessary, new standards and usage patterns must be defined. The role also involves clearly communicating and defending architectural decisions to various stakeholders.

Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, Serverless), hybrid architecture design, and cloud data services is essential.

Your mission:

• Design high-level infrastructure architectures in collaboration with technical infrastructure specialists
• Act as a liaison between development, data, and infrastructure teams
• Ensure alignment of solutions with business needs, security policies, technical standards, and cost objectives
• Define new infrastructure standards and usage patterns when required
• Propose, justify, and communicate architectural decisions to different audiences
• Contribute to infrastructure strategy definition
• Support the implementation of cloud-based and hybrid solutions

You will:

• Participate in projects to design infrastructure supporting new applications and data solutions
• Collaborate closely with domain experts to produce architecture designs
• Develop, document, and communicate reference architecture models
• Ensure compliance with security, governance, and enterprise standards
• Design and manage Azure-based environments (IaaS, PaaS, Serverless)
• Architect hybrid infrastructures integrating on-premise and cloud components
• Design and manage virtual networks, peering, and connectivity solutions
• Implement cloud governance best practices, including Azure Landing Zones
• Work with cloud data services (Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Data Lake, Synapse Analytics)
• Implement cloud security solutions (Key Vault, RBAC, Managed Identities, Private Endpoints)
• Design high-availability, resilient, and scalable architectures
• Implement monitoring and observability solutions (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics)
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline setup (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)

You have the following skills

Technical Skills (Mandatory):

• Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, Serverless)
• Experience designing hybrid cloud architectures
• Knowledge of Azure Landing Zones and cloud governance
• Proficiency with Azure networking (Virtual Networks, peering, interconnectivity)
• Experience with cloud data services (Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Data Lake, Synapse)
• Cloud security implementation (Key Vault, RBAC, Managed Identities, Private Endpoints)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
• Monitoring and observability tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics)
• Good knowledge of Windows Server and workstation technologies
• Experience with at least three of the following: Hyper-V, MS SQL Server, Active Directory, IIS, Azure
• Solid understanding of network protocols and technologies
• Experience designing high-availability and resilient systems

Technical Skills (Preferred):

• Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Bicep)
• Event-driven architectures (Event Hub, Service Bus)
• Zero Trust security principles
• Citrix XenApp / XenDesktop
• IBM Mainframe technologies (IMS, COBOL)
• .NET framework and development environments
• API technologies (REST, SOAP)
• Security protocols (SAML, OAuth, ADFS, PKI, WS-Security, Kerberos)
• Middleware (MQ Series, BizTalk)
• Tools such as Visio and PowerPoint

Soft Skills:

Languages:

• English: good level (mandatory)
• Dutch and French: good level (preferred)

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience
• Mid-level experience (2–5 years)
