We are looking for an experienced IT Functional Analyst to join a dynamic IT environment delivering large-scale insurance solutions within a complex and evolving business landscape.

📅 Mission details

Location: Brussels centre – 2 days on-site / 3 days remote

Start date: ASAP - long-term mission

Education: Bachelor or Master in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

Languages: English + Dutch & French (one fluent, the other minimum basic - both combinations accepted)

🌍 Context

You will join a multidisciplinary IT department of ~100 professionals responsible for end-to-end software development of insurance applications. The landscape includes:

• Microfocus mainframe emulator (Windows environment)
• COBOL / Mix COBOL + .NET
• Frontend technologies (.NET, CRM)
• Integration, printing, and communication layers

🧠 Your mission

As a Functional Analyst, you will:

• Translate business requirements into structured IT functional solutions
• Contribute to technical design in collaboration with developers
• Define and prepare functional integration test cases
• Support and execute testing before delivery
• Coordinate technical designers and developers during implementation
• Ensure alignment between business expectations and delivered solutions
• Support project managers in planning and execution
• Report progress and manage follow-up actions
• Analyze and propose corrective actions when needed

🎯 Profile requirements

Experience

• 2–5 years as IT Functional Analyst in complex environments
• Strong experience in Non-Life underwriting insurance (mandatory)
• Knowledge of claims insurance and document management (plus)

Technical skills

• Experience with multi-layer application architectures
• SQL knowledge (nice to have)
• Understanding of technical analysis

Methodologies (plus)

• Prince2 / project leadership principles
• Test management principles (TMAP)

Soft skills
