Freelance Technical / Solution Architect

ARHS Group is seeking an experienced Technical Architect to support the transition of a custom-built crisis management application, into the new Crisis Management Platform (CMP) .

The role focuses on assessing the current solution , identifying how its capabilities can be migrated, integrated, or re-designed within a platform environment , and providing clear technical recommendations . The objective is not to recreate as a standalone system, but to embed its capabilities into CMP in a scalable, sustainable way .

This role works closely with ongoing fit-gap analysis activities and helps shape future development and migration planning .

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse the current architecture including applications, integrations, data flows, security, and infrastructure.
• Define pragmatic migration options (e.g. refactor, rebuild, re-platform, or integrate selected capabilities into CMP).
• Perform technical fit-gap analysis
• Propose target-state architecture principles covering application design, integration, data, security, hosting, and resilience.
• Design integration approaches , including API-based and event-driven patterns.
• Assess data migration implications , including data quality, ownership, retention, and transition strategy.
• Define key non-functional requirements (security, access control, performance, resilience, disaster recovery, compliance).
• Contribute to architecture workshops , decision-making, and clear technical recommendations for stakeholders.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience as a Technical / Solution Architect on large-scale platforms or transformation initiatives.
• Experience assessing custom-built applications and defining migration paths towards platform-based or modular architectures .
• Hands‑on exposure to Microsoft, Java, microservices, and modern integration technologies .

Strong understanding of:

• Application decomposition and service-oriented design
• API-led and event-driven integration
• Data migration and interoperability
• Solid knowledge of security‑by‑design, identity and access management, and resilience.
• Proven experience working with cloud or hybrid environments, preferably in regulated or security-sensitive contexts.
• Ability to translate technical analysis into clear, actionable recommendations .
• Comfortable working with business analysts, product owners, and engineering teams .
