Head of Finance - Reporting & Tax

We are currently partnering with a leading international Insuretch to recruit a Head of Finance – Reporting & Indirect Tax . This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-growth, pan-European business in a pivotal finance leadership role.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Assistant Financial Controller, you will take ownership of indirect tax compliance and statutory reporting across multiple European entities. This role offers strong exposure to senior stakeholders, cross-border operations, and ongoing finance transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Indirect Tax & Compliance

• Lead VAT compliance across Europe, including oversight of outsourced providers
• Ensure accurate and timely VAT filings and regulatory submissions
• Act as the main point of contact for tax authorities and external advisors
• Provide practical VAT guidance to the wider business on transactions and new initiatives
• Oversee transfer pricing processes and broader indirect taxes (e.g. IPT)

Financial Reporting

• Manage monthly group reporting under US GAAP
• Deliver high-quality management reporting and analysis
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and local GAAP requirements
• Oversee statutory and regulatory reporting across jurisdictions

Leadership & Projects

• Mentor junior team members and manage offshore resources
• Drive process improvements and system enhancements (SAP/S4HANA environment)
• Partner with stakeholders across finance and the wider business

Candidate Profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• 5–7 years’ post-qualified experience
• Strong European VAT experience, including interaction with tax authorities
• Background in Big 4 or similar environment preferred
• Knowledge of transfer pricing and other indirect taxes is advantageous
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, and local GAAPs
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
