Payroll Officer (Senior)
About the Role
We are partnering with a leading international organisation operating in specialised engineering and infrastructure sectors. With a strong global presence and a reputation for delivering complex, large-scale projects, the company is known for innovation, operational excellence, and a highly skilled workforce.
They are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team and take ownership of payroll operations across a diverse employee population.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain personnel data, including social documentation, holiday entitlements, and contract changes
- Support personnel administration through professional and timely correspondence
- Collaborate with HR to prepare and validate monthly payroll calculations
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing via internal and external systems
- Maintain and update employee data within payroll platforms
- Handle statutory declarations and liaise with relevant authorities where required
- Manage employee exit processes, including required documentation and notifications
- Coordinate with insurance providers regarding employee benefits, sickness, and leave payments
- Act as a point of contact for payroll-related queries from employees
- Support absence management processes, including parental leave and other time-off requests
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external payroll providers to resolve issues and improve processes
Technical Requirements
- Proven experience in payroll processing (7+ years preferred)
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with numerical data
- Experience with payroll systems, processes, and administration best practices
- Familiarity with complex benefits structures and tax frameworks
- Solid understanding of employment law, social security, and taxation principles

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Personnel Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Languages
- Fluency in Dutch required
- Good working knowledge of English and/or French is advantageous
