We are currently looking for a Mechanical Commissioning Superintendent to join a major industrial project. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the pre-commissioning and commissioning of process and mechanical systems within the South Utilities Area, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient system delivery in line with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Commissioning Planning
- Develop detailed pre-commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules for process and mechanical systems.
- Ensure commissioning activities are fully integrated into the overall project timeline.
- Review vendor procedures and subcontractor method statements.
Testing & Verification
- Supervise testing activities performed by vendors and subcontractors, including instrumentation, controls, interfaces, interlocks, and safety systems.
- Oversee system integration testing to ensure safe and reliable operations.
- Drive mechanical completion on system and subsystem level according to project milestones.
Test Procedure Development
- Prepare and/or review commissioning test procedures (CTPs) in line with contract requirements and industry standards.
- Define temporary systems required for testing activities.
- Plan vendor support, tools, and equipment required for pre-commissioning.
Issue Identification & Troubleshooting
- Identify and resolve issues arising during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
- Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and coordinate corrective actions.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and review detailed commissioning reports covering activities, results, and deviations.
- Maintain accurate records of test results, inspections, punch lists, and compliance documentation.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the Commissioning Manager, discipline leads, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Communicate progress, test results, and issues clearly to all stakeholders.
Safety Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations during commissioning activities.
- Enforce safety procedures including RAMS, PTW, and LOTO.
- Act as PTW approver for subcontractor activities.
Final Acceptance & Handover
- Support final system acceptance, ensuring all systems meet project and contractual requirements.
- Facilitate smooth handover to operations, including complete documentation transfer.
Your Profile
- Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Strong experience in process and/or mechanical commissioning within industrial projects.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Client-oriented mindset is essential.
