Health Safety Environment Advisor


The Role

This is a site-based position, reporting into the regional Head of EHS, with responsibility for driving health, safety and environmental standards across the project.


Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain site health & safety policies to prevent incidents and ensure compliance
  • Carry out regular site inspections and report findings to senior project leadership
  • Track and close out actions from audits and previous reports within agreed timelines
  • Support accident / incident investigations and produce detailed reports
  • Ensure all site personnel and subcontractors receive appropriate inductions
  • Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for suitability
  • Oversee permits to work and ensure compliance with safe systems of work
  • Ensure correct storage and handling of hazardous materials (COSHH)
  • Maintain high standards of site welfare, setup, and safety signage
  • Promote a strong safety culture across site teams and subcontractors


Requirements

  • Proven experience working within a construction environment
  • Strong understanding of site-based health & safety processes
  • Relevant EHS qualification (e.g. NEBOSH or equivalent)
  • Good knowledge of HSE legislation and ability to interpret it
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of a project team
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure project environments
  • Strong organisational and decision-making capability
