Robert Half is working with a forward-thinking pan-European organisation seeking a Human Resources Assistant (Interim) .
This position is an integral part of the Operations Team, collaborating closely with the Talent Manager to maintain and develop a thriving team committed to making a difference for animals.
This is a part-time, -month position based in Brussels with a potential for partial remote work.
Key Responsibilities In this role, you'll work across a spectrum of HR functions to shape and the organization's dynamic team.
Best Practices & Policies
Collaborate on the design and adaptation of HR policies and the organization's Work Regulations. Stay updated on HR trends and sector-specific best practices in recruitment and retention. Attend sector-relevant events and build expertise in the Brussels and European environment.Core HR
Serve as a back-up for Hard HR functions, including payroll, legal, benefits, and contracts, ed by external HR experts. Drive Offboarding and Recruitment processes and coordinate onboarding for new hires to ensure smooth transitions within the organization.Recruitment (Full-Cycle)
Oversee all recruitment activities from job specification creation to onboarding. Collaborate with the CEO and relevant team members to update job descriptions and manage recruitment templates. Build and maintain relationships with recruitment agencies, negotiate contracts, and manage advertisements for open roles. Shortlist candidates, manage interviews, perform background checks, and oversee offer/contract negotiations. Lead the onboarding and exit processes for employees.Retention & Development
Develop tools and strategies to track employee performance, engagement, and career progression. Implement training and development programs by identifying both individual and organizational training needs. Facilitate partnerships with external training providers and manage program implementation. Oversee well-being initiatives, remuneration benchmarking, and benefits plans to ensure market competitiveness.Required Skills and Competencies
Essential
Strong connection to the mission and vision of protecting animals. Proven experience in recruitment, onboarding, and talent management (preferably within the NGO sector). Fluency in written and spoken English, as well as advanced knowledge of French. Advanced proficiency in software tools like Google Suite, Jira, Confluence, Salesforce, or equivalent systems.Desirable
Familiarity with the Brussels environment and European institutions.Competencies
Strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness; confidence working in multicultural settings. Ability to balance organizational and employee needs while staying solutions-oriented. Comfortable handling change, pressure, and providing/receiving feedback.
