IT Project Manager


We are currently looking for an IT Project Manager to work on a project with an Educational Institution, based in Hasselt.


This is a freelance opportunity.


Requirements:

Demonstrable experience in mentoring and coaching individuals and teams

Demonstrable experience in coaching Agile business transitions

Demonstrable knowledge of Agile framework

Demonstrable experience as an expert in Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum/Kanban/DevOps, …)

Demonstrable experience in setting up and continuously optimising processes, structures, roles and resources within and across the IT organisation

Language requirement: Dutch at European CEFR - level C2.


Context

The client wants to strengthen its project management team to lead multiple IT projects within the domains of research & innovation, human resources & organization, and CRM.

The IT project manager plays a crucial role in planning, executing, and successfully closing these projects. The project manager must possess a combination of leadership skills and effective communication to ensure project success and stakeholder satisfaction.


1. Project planning:

Develop detailed project plans outlining tasks, timelines, resources, and milestones.

Define the project scope, objectives, and results in collaboration with stakeholders.

Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.


2. Team leadership:

Assemble and lead the project team, ensuring collaboration and effective communication.

Motivate and guide team members to achieve project goals.

Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their strengths and expertise.


3. Stakeholder management:

Communicate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and expectations.

Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, risks, and issues.

Address stakeholder concerns and manage expectations throughout the entire project lifecycle.


4. Budget and Resource Management:

Develop and manage project budgets and ensure efficient resource allocation.

Monitor project expenditures and report on financial status.

Optimize resource utilization to maximize project efficiency.


5. Risk Management:

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Proactively address issues as they arise throughout the project lifecycle.

Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.


6. Quality Assurance:

Define and maintain quality standards for project deliverables.

Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure project requirements are met.

Implement quality assurance processes to minimize errors and rework.


7. Communication:

Facilitate effective communication within the project team and with external stakeholders.

Prepare and deliver status reports, presentations, and documentation.

Promote a transparent and open communication culture within the project team.


8. Change Management:

Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.

Assess the impact of changes and communicate the implications to stakeholders.

Implement change control processes to maintain project integrity.
