Project Engineer

The Engineering department delivers technical expertise to support the activities of Fluxys Belgium Operations by carrying out studies and technical projects. These projects, carried out across Belgium, aim to improve, modernise or replace existing facilities.

In addition, the department plays a key role in innovation initiatives supporting the energy transition, such as power-to-gas, emissions reduction and the development of new networks for CO₂, hydrogen (H₂) and other gases.

Our Engineering department is looking for a Project Engineer (m/f/x).

You will contribute to the development of Fluxys Belgium Operations in connection with the energy transition by taking part in innovative projects and implementing solutions to meet these new challenges.

• As a Project Engineer at Fluxys, you will take part in engineering projects at our facilities and will ensure that the relevant studies are carried out in pragmatic, efficient and results-orientated manner.
• In connection with these projects, you will have two main areas of responsibility: You will study and coordinate studies for projects related to the renewal, extension and automation of our facilities or equipment. And you also act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for the Engineering department toward the project leaders responsible for their part of the project execution of the projects."
• Your goal will be to design safe, reliable and ergonomic facilities that comply with current legislation and standards, while complying with technical and financial quality requirements.
• You will also be involved in conducting analyses and feasibility studies in connection with innovation projects related to the energy transition.
• This cross-functional role will enable you to build relationships at different levels within various departments of the organisation, and therefore provides an excellent entry point for a great career at Fluxys.
• You will report directly to the head of the Project Engineering unit and will work out of our head office in Brussels.

• You preferably have a master's degree in civil or industrial engineering in electromechanics, chemistry or energy.
• You have one to five years of experience, preferably in an industrial environment. Experience in E&I, project management or the chemicals sector would be a plus.
• You are not afraid to take on responsibilities and you combine professional maturity with strong analytical skills and good communication skills.
• You are curious, keen to learn and are very much results-orientated when it comes to meeting the many challenges of this role and then progressing within the organisation.
• You are willing to work in the field occasionally and you have a valid driver's license.
• You are fluent in Dutch and French, both spoken and written.
