Technical Writer

We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our product and engineering team. The ideal candidate will be someone who can work autonomously with minimal supervision to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and accurate documentation for our software products. The candidate should have exceptional communication and writing skills, with the ability to manage documentation projects and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Write, edit, and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including user guides, API references, integration manuals, release notes, and internal knowledge base articles.
• Develop clear conceptual documentation for end-users to understand the inner workings of technical products, such as the calculations or logic behind a complex visualization or algorithm.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and support teams to gather information, understand product features, and ensure technical accuracy.
• Define and maintain documentation standards, style guides, and information architecture to ensure consistency across all content.
• Manage the entire documentation lifecycle, from planning and drafting to review, publishing, and ongoing maintenance.
• Create visual aids, such as diagrams, screenshots, and flowcharts, to support written content.
• Participate in product discussions and sprint reviews to stay aligned with product development.
• Gather feedback from users and internal teams to continuously improve documentation quality and usability.

• Documentation Expertise
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Proven ability to distill complex technical information into clear, user-friendly content for various audiences (developers, administrators, end-users).
• Authoring & Publishing
  • Proficiency with modern documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, ReadMe, Zendesk Guide, or similar).
  • Experience with "docs-as-code" workflows (Markdown, Git) is a strong plus.
• Technical Foundation
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with documenting RESTful APIs; experience with tools like Swagger/OpenAPI is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand code snippets (e.g., JSON, XML, simple scripts) is a plus.

• Version control systems (Git preferred)
• Issue tracking systems (Jira)
• Diagramming tools (e.g., Lucidchart, , Visio)
• Basic familiarity with HTML/CSS for content styling
• Experience with screen capture and video creation tools is a plus

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5+ years of professional technical writing experience in a software company.
• Proven experience creating both end-user documentation and developer-focused documentation (e.g., API guides).
• Strong understanding of software development concepts and agile methodologies.
• A portfolio of writing samples (e.g., user guides, API documentation, or conceptual explanations) will be required.
