Functional Analyst - Energy Sector


The role of the Functional Analyst is multifaceted. They are responsible for capturing, consolidating, and communicating information from various business stakeholders to IT teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translating business requirements into structured IT solutions while maintaining a functional approach.
  • Utilizing energy industry knowledge to translate functional designs into tailored technical designs.
  • Collaborating with business analysts to ensure proper translation of needs.
  • Preparing functional integration test cases based on requirements.
  • Testing products before delivery to users.
  • Analysing potential corrective actions.
  • Following up with technical designers and programmers.
  • Being able to delve into technical details.
  • Working closely with the business to ensure the final solution meets their needs.

Requirements:

  • A Master's degree in Information Technologies, Electricity, Electronics, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in Functional Analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge of Energy Market issues and modelling tools and methodologies, including generation, transportation, metering, billing, Grid management, asset management, contract management, gas flow management, risk management, portfolio management, power optimisation, energy trading, real-time applications.
  • Proficiency in UML, RUP, and Microsoft architecture (.NET, Visual Studio, SQL Server, TFS).
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks or automation tools (NUnit, QTP) is a plus.
